It wasn't deluxe as advertised. The only good thing was the beds were comfortable. The a/c was dirty and sqweaked all night long. The tub had no non-slip on it, The shower didn't drain so we were standing ankle deep in water while trying to shower. The lamp was filthy and broke. No vending machines for pop, no coffee in the lobby and only one packet in the room.
location is fine on the main street of Penticton, but this hotel is in dire need of a renovation, it is run down.
very old motel, the carpet was not very clean, small room with two large beds in it, lighting poor in the room.
The motel is within walking distance to Skaha lake and the beach.
The air conditioning was very lound, such that those running in the neighbouring rooms provided a constant and annoying background buzz.
We weren't spending much time in the room or hotel facilities, so our main concern was clean bed and bathroom, and it made our basic needs.
Well, we travel a lot, and we compare other places around the world those BC motels in Okanagan region are way too expensive for the basic quality they provide, but I guess there is nothing what we can do about changing it since there are still lots of people who take it without complaints.
Personale molto cordiale, camere pulite, giardino molto curato
Le camere, pur essendo pulite, sono poco accoglienti.
Close to entertainment area
Water faucet in tub blew off while taking a shower.
Location to beach
Didn't clean bathroom. Didn't do sheet change for the 9 days we stayed there. Noisy air conditioner. the rug in our room was fithy.
anything we asked for the little dude that did the cleaning ,got for us.
Location, location, close to the beach and shopping centre, good price.clean ,quite and comfortable
The 2 BBQ's provided were garbage.
easy to find location, very close to beach, close to friends place, a one-level building with no stairs, liked the garden-like setting with picnic tables and lounge chairs and BBQ's plus the sun umbrellas as well as the children's play area. Another plus was the small size. The staff were friendly enough and tried to help. Only 3 staff present, but then there are only 16 units. Liked the many hanging baskets and the flower planters with a bench infront of each unit with a nice overhang from the roof so we could sit outside even in the occasional thunderstorm. No smoking inside the units is nice too.
didn't like the mini-fridge that froze everything we put in it, the very thin walls so we could hear all the noise from the partying next door until 3 in the morning or the rattling old A/C, plus the musty smelling room- - -but then, it's only an older style motel, so what can one expect? The staff were not fluent in English, so communicating with them was a bit difficult at times. They could use better lighting in the room, especially near the microwave and coffee maker were it was very dark and no convenient outlets [we had to crawl under the table to plug in things.] Another downside is the units are all very close together and there was lots of smoking outside infront of each unit, thereby allowing the smoke to enter the rooms.
Good value for time of year and location
Manager complained that I used on line Booking service at time of check- in. Stating she was loosing money on it! Peculiar reception....but was polite and eventually gave room key.
Cheap. Good Value. Easy walking distance to Lake Skaha.
Room had an odd odor to it. Air conditioner was initially broken, staff was quick to fix it though once I made a comment on it.
Pleasant front desk staff member
When I checked in, front desk said I was not "Paid" (which my email confirmation seemed to indicate clearly I was). So I paid upon check-in. The inconvenience is that now I have to take the time and hassle to confirm that I haven't paid twice. Also, in Penticton, heat is the biggest issue and the air conditioner was not working (a floor fan had been placed in the middle of the room - so clearly the operator recognized this). If a/c is advertised and not provided, I expect operator should inform the guest of this and make suitable adjustments (perhaps price, perhaps an apology). I wasn't in the frame of mind to confront the issue, but I wouldn't recommend the place as a result.
We were only in town for an overnite and wanted a place that was reasonable in price as well as comfortable and this motel was just what we needed.
The lighting could be improved. Lights in more strategic locations. Counters for the bathroom would also add to convenience.
